Making Sense of the SDR ~ Monitoring Your PerformanceTEC makes funding decisions based on Education Performance Indicator (EPI) statistics. Your student management system may not be capable of reporting such statistics and, even if it is, may produce different results from the figures TEC comes up with. Hermes uses the same SDR files as TEC to compile EPI statistics quickly and accurately.Hermes is a small standalone application that is easily installed on your computer. You feed Hermes the SDR files produced by your student management system and Hermes will look for problems caused by incorrectly formatted records or missing records.Calculate your overall EPI performance score and see where it stands against TEC's performance thresholds + more… all from a small Meta Office standalone application which is totally SMS independent. |

MERCURYMercury, a generic interface between student management systemsMercury will attach to your student management system and act as an agent, picking up data from your database, validating it, and bundling it up in the correct format for onwards delivery to the agencies.This is a new piece of software that we are developing which will provide a generic interface between student management systems (including Take2, of course!) and agencies such as TEC, the Ministry of Education and NZQA. Mercury will also supply you with up-to-date reference data from the various agencies; things like your Unit Standard accreditations, country codes, secondary schools, etc. Potentially, and with NZQA's co-operation, Mercury could import student records of learning.More detail will be made available later this year with interim updates published in the news letter. |
